We Cannot Lose Another Young Soul
The Homelessness epidemic, lack of food and inadequate access to care essentials for +10,000 residents in Georgia is out of control. Thousands more are migrating from neighboring states causing unemployment to surge. The growing housing crisis in Dekalb–where the need is greatest–puts an enormous strain on other counties. And now, COVID-19. Individuals living on the street have limited access to medical care. Shelters are overcrowded with limited food and basic care items. Georgia is becoming the California of the South in more ways than one and the demographic who suffers the most; TEENS. They are committing suicide at an unprecedented rate.
Many cities have opted to employ insensitive measures to ensure the homeless remain out of sight and out of mind. Shelters are being closed. Spikes are being installed to curb homeless sleepers. Benches are designed to limit full body resting. We need a viable solution. This epidemic doesn’t need to be managed, it needs to be challenged.
MORE THAN MANAGING CRISIS
We want to help everyone we can as much as we can, and we will start with Teens. This year we’re launching a program reaching Teens between 15 and 20 with a goal to get them off the street and into an environment where they feel safe, loved, valued and clear on their purpose in life.
The program, 40 INN, involves our team of experts sheltering 20 teen males and 20 teen females for 40 weeks where we introduce them to skills and trades that will allow them to discover their potential in GOD and secure future employment and stable housing.
